US company Universal has formed a new emissions technology division.
For nearly 50 years Universal, previously known as Universal Silencer, says that it has been in the business of managing exhaust flow for engines in the marine, power generation, oil and gas, processing and locomotive markets.
As a result, Universal has formed a new division dedicated to exhaust emissions technology named Universal Emission Technologies. The new division will continue to invest in emissions technology and tap Universal’s core business and customer base centered on exhaust system technology solutions and supply.
Universal says that it not only has existing customer relationships with key OEM engine manufacturers, but also has relationships with key suppliers of SCR, soot filter and oxidation catalyst systems. The company points out that it was formerly owned by an engine company that had its own emissions solution business; now independent, Universal offers significant commercial, operational and technical experience in technologies which include noise control, back pressure minimisation, thermal management, flow distribution optimisation, structural integrity, project management, logistics, and emissions treatment.
