Engine and generator specialist WaterMota of the UK has signed an agreement with Denmark-based Bukh enabling it to sell SOLAS approved engines.

The agreement with Bukh will apply to the SeasAll range of Hyundai engines and will enable WaterMota to supply engines for commercial vessels, plus superyachts, which need to comply with SOLAS regulations. The Hyundai SeasAll Bukh engine has more than 22 different type approvals from national maritime authorities and classification societies.

WaterMota managing director,, Mike Beacham, explained: “Bukh is the world’s leading SOLAS marine engine supplier, supplying engines for fast rescue and lifeboats among other uses. The company was founded in 1899 and has a long history of producing quality, reliable engines. It’s well established in the speciality field of SOLAS engines, ensuring they are built to rigorous standards. We’re delighted to sign a deal with the company allowing us to supply engines which conform to and are certified by the stringent conditions laid down by SOLAS.”
