DNV and AVL co-operation

Engine and emissions specialist AVL is to co-operate with DNV in the field of power generation and marine propulsion systems. The aim is to combine the engine experience of AVL with the ship hull and machinery expertise of DNV to provide support to shipyards and shipowners.
Areas of co-operation will be in advising on complete system design (engines, clutches, gearboxes and propellers) as well as engineering for reducing noise, vibration and emission. Support will be available for those undertaking failure analysis, which often involves analysing the complete driveline and hull/driveline interaction.
Both companies will continue to offer their services independently in their own areas of expertise.
