DSME poised to win cruise ship order
According to industry sources, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) is in talks with a Greek firm over a deal to build the Korean shipbuilder’s first cruise ship at an estimated cost of $600 million.
According to other reports, the negotiations are in fact with Louis Cruises, a unit of Cyprus's Louis Group.
The news of the potential DSME cruise ship contract follows November's announcement that Samsung Heavy Industries had signed a letter of intent for a $1.1 billion residential cruise ship for Utopia Residences of Los Angeles.
