Wärtsilä hails turbocharger service investment
Wärtsilä has completed a renewal of its turbocharger service workshop in Schiedam as part of global investments aimed at improving its service offering.
The workshop in the Netherlands, renewed in March, is one of more than 20 service centres for turbochargers worldwide. The facilities are equipped for a wide range of service work, with certified service engineers trained to carry out turbocharger overhauls.
The turbocharger workshops operate in close cooperation with global service centres, offering customers the possibility to overhaul turbochargers at the same time as engines. Other turbocharger workshop locations include Fort Lauderdale, USA; Quito, Ecuador; Gaziantep and Istanbul, Turkey; Dubai, UAE; Mumbai, India and Jakarta, Indonesia.
Tomas Hakala, vice president, 4-stroke engine services, Wärtsilä, said: "By offering complete turbocharger services closely coupled with the engine maintenance expertise, we can apply a holistic approach that optimises maintenance operations across the equipment.”
