ABS issues notation for wind turbine installation units

The second self-elevating unit destined for wind turbine installation and classed by ABS is the Seajacks Leviathan, a self-propelled, self-elevating unit (SEU) intended for use in harsh environments

With the emergence of mobile offshore units primarily intended for the installation, maintenance and repair of wind turbines, classification society ABS announced during the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston this week that it has issued a new notation for these specialized units, Wind IMR.
