Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has signed an agreement with the UK-based Harris Pye group to carry out after-sales service on MHI marine boilers on a world wide non-exclusive basis.

The two companies have worked together for nearly10 years. Harris Pye claims to offer ‘flying squads’ available on a global basis to work at short notice to deal with all necessary tasks quickly and effectively.

“Harris Pye is the best partner not only for MHI, but also all MHI marine boiler users,” says Toshiaki Hori, general manager of marine machinery department, marine machinery & engine division, power systems, MHI. “Rapid and high quality after sales service enhances the value of MHI boilers, and our partnership will continue to bring satisfaction to customers.”

“We are delighted that our ongoing relationship has been reaffirmed by the signing of this latest contract,” says Mark Prendergast, managing director of the Harris Pye Group. “The work we undertake on behalf of MHI around the globe encompasses repair work, or modification, or the reconditioning of components or parts of MHI marine boilers and all necessary maintenance or overhaul work. This could include such tasks as burner modification, retubing of superheaters, boiler and economiser repair work, tube thickness measurement, retubing of bank tube and wall tube, or other similar work. Our teams around the world are fully trained in all aspects of MHI marine boilers, with extensive training courses available in Nagasaki for any new members of our global team.”
