MOL's vessels and US terminals ISPS certified

MOL (America) Inc confirma that all of the company's containerships calling at North American ports and all of MOL's own terminals are in compliance with IMO?s International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) and have been certified accordingly.

The US Coast Guard will use ISPS Certification to enforce the US Maritime Transportation Act (MTSA) which requires all vessels calling at US ports to have an ISPS certified, antiterrorism security program activated by July 1, 2004. "MOL regards the safe and secure transport of cargo our top priority. It is the foundation of our vessel and terminal operations. It is our corporate responsibility to leverage technology and our human resources to ensure the security of our vessels and terminals. Consequently, we have committed substantial resources to fully address this very critical issue, vessel by vessel and terminal by terminal," commented James Galligan, Vice President, Pricing & Security Management, MOL (America) Inc.

MOL is a certified member of US Customs & Border Protection's C-TPAT program. MOL also participates in other U.S. Customs security and anti-drug smuggling programs, such as, the container security initiative (CSI), business anti-smuggling coalition (BASC), carrier initiative program (CIP), & super carrier initiative program.
