03 Aug 2011
Seaspan Corporation says that it has accepted delivery of its latest 4,500TEU containership, the Budapest Bridge, which was constructed by Samsung Heavy Industries.
This is Seaspan's eighth delivery in 2011 and expands the company's operating fleet to 63 vessels. The Budapest Bridge is on charter to Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha ("K-Line") under a 12-year, fixed-rate time charter with options to extend the term up to an additional six years. The ship is the last of five 4,500TEU sister ships and the last of seven vessels to be chartered by Seaspan to K-Line.
