P&O’s new flagship Azure
Last Friday Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard delivered the 116,000 grt 'Azura', the new flagship for P&O Cruises, part of the Carnival Group, which is the 27th passenger vessel built at the yard out of a total of 53 built by Fincantieri.
Incorporating the highest technological standards and providing maximum passenger comfort, the Azura is 290m long with a maximum passenger capacity of 4,383 accommodated in 2,180 cabins. The newbuilding offers passengers a wide range of entertainment, including swimming pools, shops, wellness centres and libraries. On board there will also be the innovative “Seascreen”, an open-air cinema by the side of the main pool.
Cooperation between the two companies started five years ago when Fincantieri built the 82,000 grt Arcadia at Marghera shipyard followed by the Ventura.
