New consultant in marine fuels
Fritz Jakob Fredriksen
DNV Petroleum Services (DNVPS) has announced that Fritz Jakob Fredriksen has joined the company as a principal consultant. He will be advising shipping companies on various fuel-related issues.
A marine engineer and master mariner by training, Fredriksen has worked for a number of shipping companies including Norwegian Cruise Line, Western Bulk Carriers Hual and Höegh Autoliners. He served as chairman of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) from Feb 2007 to Feb 2009, where he actively contributed to the improvement of industry relations and practices in global bunkering, and most recently was a senior adviser with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) involved in policy development and execution of environmental conservation and education in Norway.
“I am absolutely thrilled to work for DNVPS,” Fredriksen says. “I have collaborated with this company for many years – as a customer, and on numerous industry projects. The dedication, professionalism and pride DNVPS displays in its work is something I look forward to being a part of.”
Knut-Helge Knutsen, Regional manager of dnvps, adds, “We are very pleased to have Fritz on board. Apart from his valuable background, which covers both commercial and practical aspects, Fritz is also well known in the bunkering business. We will for sure be able to leverage his network within the industry.”
Fredriksen is based in Hovik, Norway.
