Transmission company strengthens commercial focus
ZF Services UK has announced the appointment of Jim Peebles to its marine business unit, as technical sales engineer for commercial craft, part of its strategy to increase its focus on commercial marine.
Peebles joins the team from WaterMota, where he specialised in marine engine sales for the commercial segment. He previously held sales roles with Finning UK and Hindle Power.
The appointment comes at a significant time for ZF in the UK, as from 1 July 2011 the company’s Nottingham and Crick sites are fully financially merged to form ZF Services UK. The company sats that while synergistic product and service offerings have been grouped together, no range rationalisation has taken place, therefore product availability is unaffected.
As a former customer of ZF and with more than 20 years of experience in the sector, Peebles is confident of a receptive market. He explained, “ZF Services UK has access to the entire ZF Marine portfolio, an unrivalled range of complete propulsion systems from flywheel to propeller tip, including electronic controls. These make system design and installation simple and flexible, while providing the durability, speed, manoeuvrability and reliability required for commercial applications. It’s primarily a matter of increasing market awareness of our comprehensive offer to help drive sales.”
