Satcom data contract for short-sea fleet
80 ships in Wilson Ship Management’s fleet will benefit from Marlink’s FleetBroadband data services
Marlink says that it has signed an agreement with short-sea ship operator Wilson Ship Management to provide 80 of its ships with SCAP FleetBroadband on a 36 month contract.
The contract is a full service package including both hardware from Thrane & Thrane and airtime. Other services included in the contract include Vizada traffic manager and data manager. A customised data manager fleet log-in has been created to ease the management of fleet wide system settings. Marlink says it was awarded the contract on the strength of customer support and the ability to offer a tailoredl package.
Marlink CEO, Tore Morten Olsen commented, “This is an important contract for Marlink, as Wilson Ship Management is a major operator in this sector with over 110 ships in its fleet. Being able to offer, install and service the complete package has meant that we can deliver and have their communication systems in full operation in the shortest time possible. This extremely important factor was taken into consideration when the management team at Wilson made their decision. While this order is for 36 months we are confident in our service and will ensure that this is a long term relationship in the future.”
