DNV GL type approval for PBES energy storage system
DNV GL type approval of the system should open up global marine markets for PBES
Plan B Energy Storage (PBES) has received DNV GL Type Approval of its energy storage system certifying it for use in commercial marine, offshore oil and gas and renewable energy applications.
The type approval of the PBES system should open up global marine markets for the company and assure customers that equipped vessels meet class standards.
“Global reach and dominant position in classification across multiple markets make DNV GL the most important validation PBES can receive,” said Brent Perry, chief executive officer, PBES.
Sverre Eriksen, DNV GL – Maritime, added: “We would like to congratulate PBES Norway on this achievement.”
“It was a great pleasure to work with PBES during the approval process and going forward their customers can be confident that the PEBS storage system has been tested to meet strict safety and reliability standards.”
The PBES energy storage system has been designed to the highest standards of performance, safety and sustainability.
It is equipped with PBES’ patented CellCool cell level liquid cooling, ThermalStop anti-propagation barrier, E-Vent gas venting system and CellSwap battery re-coring features.
The system is designed to seamlessly integrate with all types of power generation in a variety of commercial and industrial applications.
