Spain completes PSV for Scottish owner

Aberdeen-based North Star Shipping, part of the Craig Group, has taken delivery of its latest vessel, an Offshore Ship Designers (OSD) IMT978 PSV design, named ?Grampian Talisker?.

Built by Astilleros Balenciaga in Northern Spain, the new vessel will go on charter to BP for North Sea service, where she joins her sister vessel the ?Grampian Talisman?, which has now been in service for over a year. Both vessels are designed for multi role service allowing them to combine their main supply duty with a standby role.

With an overall length of 78.2 metres and a beam of 17 metres, the IMT978 has a summer deadweight of 3,890 tonnes and a deck load area of 739 square metres suitable for 1,000 tonnes of deck cargo.
