GTT supplies tank for SHI LNG carrier

French engineering company, GTT, has received an order from Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries for the tank design of a new LNG carrier, on behalf of Japanese ship-owner Nisshin Shipping Co.

The tanks of the 174,000m3 vessel will be fitted with the Mark III Flex membrane containment system. Delivery is scheduled during the first quarter of 2022.

Philippe Berterottière, chairman and chief executive of GTT, said, "We are very pleased to receive this new order from Samsung Heavy Industries for the benefit of Nisshin Shipping Co., an owner that we are delighted to accompany in its entry into the LNG industry."
