The Center develops innovative solutions for the maritime sector and supply chain. It supports companies and institutions in the shipping, port, and logistics sectors in initiating and implementing future-oriented technologies and processes. <\/p>\n
The interdisciplinary teams at the Center develop customised solutions for private and public clients. In the four research fields of Maritime Logistics, Ports, Shipping, and Autonomous Maritime Systems, the team translate the latest scientific findings from diverse research activities into practical applications. The focus is on solutions for end-to-end digitalisation and process automation, service concepts, and AI-supported data analysis, as well as autonomous maritime systems and sustainable shipping. These innovative concepts are tested and improved at the CML through simulation, models, and real-world operation. <\/p>\n
The Fraunhofer CML was founded in 2010 as part of the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML in Hamburg. <\/p>\n

Radio and bridge laboratory <\/strong><\/p>\n The radio and bridge laboratory at the Fraunhofer CML combines two things in one: the antenna system and the classed bridge system, which makes the research building technically a real seagoing vessel – the stone ship in the middle of Harburg\u2019s inland port. <\/p>\n Ship navigation simulator <\/strong><\/p>\n A concept for an autonomous merchant ship was the starting point for the development of a range of technologies that have since been further developed and tested using the CML\u2019s ship simulators. <\/p>\n Examples of mobile robotics <\/strong><\/p>\n High-Precision Measurement Technology and Sensors for Automated Processes and Robotics. <\/p>\n Demonstrations are expected to last 10-15 minutes each and will be delivered in English. <\/p>\n
