The ropax will have a capacity of 2800 passengers, and feature enlarged passenger seating areas and additional passenger cabins compared with Tallink\u2019s existing <em>Megastar<\/em> ropax.<\/p>\n<p>The propulsion system will feature liquefied natural gas (LNG) engines with the option of integrating a hybrid battery solution. Compared with the <em>Megastar<\/em>, the vessel\u2019s LNG storage capacity is being increased by 33%. It will also include shore connection equipment. As a result, the new enhanced design will reduce the ferry\u2019s CO2 emissions by 10 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Jyrki Heinimaa, CEO of Rauma Marine Constructions, said: &#8220;We are very pleased to have secured this order. The modern and environmentally-friendly vessel supports RMC\u2019s aim to be a leading car and passenger ferry provider. The vessel is set to be delivered to the customer in the beginning of 2022, which means we have work secured at the shipyard for a long time ahead.
