{"id":3364,"date":"2012-07-02T15:57:00","date_gmt":"2012-07-02T14:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mercator.nfdtesting.uk\/propulsion-and-future-fuels-conference\/2012\/07\/02\/successful-sea-trials-for-new-voith-tug\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T22:26:32","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T21:26:32","slug":"successful-sea-trials-for-new-voith-tug","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.motorship.com\/propulsion-and-future-fuels-conference\/news\/general-news\/successful-sea-trials-for-new-voith-tug\/","title":{"rendered":"Successful sea trials for new Voith tug"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the trials, the tug achieved a speed of 13.5 knots and a bollard pull of 73.5 tonnes, stipulations required by the port authority \u2013 in fact the vessel achieved above and beyond these targets.<\/p>\n<p>The two diesel engines supply Voith Schneider propellers with an input power of 2640 kW.<\/p>\n<p>Not only did Voith deliver the complete propulsion system for the tug, it also provided the basic design of the tug in cooperation with the shipyard.<\/p>\n<p>Stefan Moy\u00e9, managing director, Voith Turbo Marine Engineering, said to <i>The Motorship<\/i>: &#8220;The port already owns four Voith Water Tractors, what makes this contract important is that we haven\u2019t just supplied the equipment, we have also worked on the design in conjunction with the shipyard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Haifa is one of the largest ports in Israel.
