{"id":3521,"date":"2013-03-04T16:21:00","date_gmt":"2013-03-04T16:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mercator.nfdtesting.uk\/propulsion-and-future-fuels-conference\/2013\/03\/04\/stx-lays-keel-for-lng-carrier\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T22:27:37","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T21:27:37","slug":"stx-lays-keel-for-lng-carrier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.motorship.com\/propulsion-and-future-fuels-conference\/news\/general-news\/stx-lays-keel-for-lng-carrier\/","title":{"rendered":"STX lays keel for LNG carrier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <i>SCF Pskov<\/i>, which is the second vessels being built for Sovcomflot at the STX shipyard, will be operated under a long term agreement with global energy solutions company, Gazprom Global LNG.<\/p>\n<p>The first gas carrier in this series, the <i>Velikiy Novgorod, <\/i>was launched in January 2013.<\/p>\n<p>These Atlanticmax Ice2 (1C) class gas carriers have a cargo capacity of around 170,000m\u00b3 and are equipped with hardware for working in low temperature conditions. They have been designed by STX to transport gas all year round from practically any existing LNG terminals in the world, including Russia\u2019s first LNG project, Seakhalin-11.<\/p>\n<p>The new vessel is expected to be completed in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The SCF fleet has eight LNG and LPG carriers to date, engaged in both Russian and international projects (Sakhalin-11, Tangguh).
