For draught measurement only, two transmitters are installed, fore and aft. To to take account of trim, four transmitters can be installed, adding one each mid-ships port and starboard. The system can display actual draught values for all points monitored. Angular inclination can be measured in two planes, trim and heel, by the use of one or two solid state inclinometers mounted within the superstructure, and these angles can be shown on the ship’s display.

PSM says it can supply systems preconfigured with tank level data tables, based on the naval architect data for the specific vessel, to aid installation and set-up. The company says that the system is simple, and offers an economical solution for non-inventory tank measurements including fuel, product and cargo tanks on various ship types.

The latest tank gauging system from PSM of the UK combines level measurement transmitters with an associated display and control system that is capable of calculating the required corrections to take account of list and/or trim.

[13
["post-3601","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-equipment
["GET
https://www.motorship.com/propulsion-and-future-fuels-conference/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/3601/revisions/3603
