{"id":3642,"date":"2013-10-02T18:12:00","date_gmt":"2013-10-02T17:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mercator.nfdtesting.uk\/propulsion-and-future-fuels-conference\/2013\/10\/02\/super-low-resistance\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T22:28:25","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T21:28:25","slug":"super-low-resistance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.motorship.com\/propulsion-and-future-fuels-conference\/news\/general-news\/super-low-resistance\/","title":{"rendered":"Super low resistance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is because the hull is designed to provide super low resistance right through every speed range.<\/p>\n<p>The hull form was recently tested at Hamburg Ship Model Basin (HSVA) where even the smallest details were put through their paces and then optimised for maximum efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>The outcome was that wave formation through the speed range was minimal and no following waves were observed in the wake of the ship.<\/p>\n<p>Measured resistance was subsequently compared to the HSVA database and the company says that no other hull form showed such consistently low resistance.<\/p>\n<p>Foreship now intends to utilise the data for all other BlueTech ships which have a full bodied hull form.<\/p>\n<p>New company Foreship BlueTech Ltd was set up by Foreship back in February to create the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.motorship.com\/news101\/industry-news\/new-company-launches-economical-bulk-carrier-series\" target=\"_blank\">BlueTech<\/a> bulk carrier series.<\/p>\n<p>Foreship BlueTech\u2019s new bulk carrier series is based on based on optimised hydrodynamics, using RANS-CFD, and latest engine technology.<\/p>\n<p>The company says that daily fuel consumption of BlueTech ships is around 30% less than other current designs.
