Being of modular construction, the Hebe series is designed for a flexible approach to customised control requirements for single and multiple rudders – including operator selectable independent or synchronous operating mode facilities if appropriate – and can be configured to interface with azimuthing pods and steering jets. The complete Hatlapa steering gear portfolio comprises four-cylinder ram-type steering gear up to 8,893kNm, two-cylinder ram-type steering gear up to 950kNm, rotary vane-type steering gear up to 1,100kNm, twin-rudder steering gear, compact piston type steering gear and rudder carriers. The Hebe system is designed to be compatible with MacGregor’s Porsgrunn rotary vane-type steering gear, which is available in the torque range of 600kNm and 5,850kNm.

“Selling an integrated steering gear package affords several important advantages,” said Jörg Tollmien, head of sales for Hatlapa. “Sourcing a number of linked products from a single company helps shipyards simplify their supply chains. Minimising the number of suppliers also makes it much easier for shipowners to manage their servicing requirements throughout the equipment’s lifetime. The lower the number of interfaces that have to be handled by the yard the better. This approach eliminates potential problems with equipment compatibility.”

A new steering control system is being introduced by Hatlapa, which is owned by Cargotec company MacGregor.

[7
["post-3755","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-general-news
["GET
https://www.motorship.com/propulsion-and-future-fuels-conference/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/3755/revisions/3757
