The Nigerian gas transportation company is a subsidiary of Nigeria LNG Limited which exports most of its cargo to the European Asian markets.<\/p>\n
The six LNG carriers are equipped with five W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 50DF engines each and operate primarily on gas.<\/p>\n
Simon Auseth, general manager business development, marine agreements, at W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4, said: “We are very excited about this opportunity to provide superior maintenance services to Bonny Gas Transport.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cIn addition to increasing the engine uptime, Bonny Gas Transport wanted to improve maintenance planning and operative cost control and this is something W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 can offer.\u201d<\/p>\n
W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4’s dynamic maintenance planning (DMP) concept will utilise condition based monitoring (CBM) to determine the actual engine maintenance needs. BGT will also have around the clock access to online operational and technical support.<\/p>\n
The agreement is the first to apply W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4’s data acquisition system, which aims to help customers optimise their operations and seize the opportunities that digitalisation offers.<\/p>\n
It provides real-time access and analysis of data with one system to enable automated measuring and power availability.<\/p>\n
