Naviera Armas\u2019 109m long ferry will be fitted with four modular W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 waterjets to boost its performance.<\/p>\n
Arto Lehtinen, vice president of propulsion at W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 Marine Solutions, said: \u201cThe proven design of the W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 LJX 1500SRI waterjet encompasses high efficiency, excellent hydrodynamic performance, minimised noise and vibration, and less maintenance.\u201d<\/p>\n
2019 launch<\/strong><\/p>\n Being built at the Incat shipyard in Tasmania, Australia, the Incat Armas will commence operations in Spanish waters in 2019.<\/p>\n The four waterjets with a control system will be delivered to the yard in October 2018.<\/p>\n The vessel will be the third Incat-built high speed catamaran incorporating W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 waterjets to join the Naviera Armas fleet.<\/p>\n Longstanding partnership<\/strong><\/p>\n W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 has worked closely with Incat for almost thirty years and this is the second order placed by the yard with W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 this year.
