{"id":4931,"date":"2026-10-20T10:14:23","date_gmt":"2026-10-20T09:14:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.motorship.com\/propulsion-and-future-fuels-conference\/?p=4931"},"modified":"2026-10-22T14:27:42","modified_gmt":"2026-10-22T13:27:42","slug":"xfuel-presence-is-more-than-a-drop-in-at-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.motorship.com\/propulsion-and-future-fuels-conference\/news\/current-year-speakers-pff\/xfuel-presence-is-more-than-a-drop-in-at-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"XFuel presence is more than a drop-in at conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Possible paths to shipping\u2019s decarbonisation include a route using sustainable, net-zero drop-in fuels, XFuel\u2019s Harry Jankola will demonstrate at the Propulsion &amp; Future Fuels Conference in early December.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Jankola leads commercial development and partnerships at the Irish climate-tech startup company that develops, patents and deploys processes for producing low-carbon high-grade drop-in fuels that require zero modification to existing engines or infrastructure.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">XFuel technologies include CLR (Chemical Liquid Refining), a process that refines impure waste and residues such as marine fuel sludge and tank sediment into affordable ISO-compliant MGO, and MECC (Mechanical Carbon Conversion), that processes solid biomass and oil waste into low-carbon drop-in transport fuels and biochar.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Jankola will be taking part in the <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Breaking Barriers: Expanding the Future Fuel Mix Beyond Conventional Pathways<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> session, exploring more diverse and resilient paths to decarbonisation.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Among the other experts taking part will be Boudewijn Pragt, Economics and Transition Finance Manager at the Maersk McKinney Moller Center for Decarbonisation, and Victor \u00c5kerlund, Chief Analytics and Sustainability Officer with the PowerCell Group.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The early afternoon session on the conference\u2019s opening day will by moderated by Gavin Allwright, Secretary General of the International Windship Association.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The 2026 Propulsion &amp; Future Fuels Conference is being held at the Empire Riverside Hotel in Hamburg from 8-10 December.
