DHI performed the shipboard tests, analysed samples, managed test results in the format required by the Independent Lab, DNV.

Due to global pandemic restrictions, shipboard testing was allowed to be performed on two commercial vessels owned by Maran Tankers, a VLCC and an Aframax, during their typical vessel voyage routes within the 6-month testing period.

As reported by The Motorship, the land-based biological efficacy (BE) testing was successfully concluded in April 2021.

The filterless EcoOne BWMS is a one-step treatment process utilising ClO2 alone. The particular neutralisation properties of ClO2 lend themselves to a filterless solution. However, Ecochlor claims that it can offer shipowners a product with the same efficiency and reliability as its existing product, while simplifying the product design by eliminating the requirement for a filter.

Vessels operating this system can operate anywhere in marine and brackish waters (i.e., ≥ 1PSU) and with no restrictions on temperature or turbidity.

A separate option is available for shipowners who want the flexibility to operate their BWMS either with or without a filter. This option will be suited for shipowners seeking the flexibility of unrestricted operation in freshwater globally, with the convenience of a no-filter system. Vessels that already have an Ecochlor BWMS with filters installed can upgrade to the Hybrid option with minimal cost.

Ecochlor has completed all land-based and shipboard testing for its filterless EcoOne ballast water management system (BWMS), the company has announced.

[22
["post-817","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-ballast-water-management
["GET
https://www.motorship.com/propulsion-and-future-fuels-conference/wp-json/wp/v2/posts/817/revisions/819
