Karsten Hochkirch heads the Ship Performance Center in DNV – Maritime’s Advisory Services. He started his career with eight years of academic research in hydrodynamics at TU-Berlin and set off as entrepreneur in 2001 to reduce the carbon emission of the marine industry by unique hydrodynamic optimization service. Eventually this business was acquired by the GL-Group, now DNV. In addition to optimization for new buildings and retrofits aiming at IMO’s carbon reduction plans, Mr Hochkirch and his team offer consultancy services on EEDI, EEXI and CII and CFD analysis.
