LNG DEBUT IN MED RO-PAX SECTOR
Use of LNG fuel is central to the fleet modernisation strategy of the Spanish ferry operator Balearia, and a milestone in the realisation of its multi-faceted newbuild and conversion programme was recently signified by the delivery of the 186-metre ro-pax Hypatia de Alejandria. The vessel is the first LNG-powered ferry to enter service in Mediterranean, and is scheduled to be followed within the next few months by a sistership, Marie Curie.
