UK operator Saga Cruises has commissioned its first-ever newbuild, with the handover in Germany of the 58,200gt Spirit of Discovery, writes David Tinsley. The company’s core target market is affluent British travellers of the so-called Baby Boomer generation, although the highly individual design and itineraries are intended to foster wider appeal.
