Wärtsilä propulsion package for Damen hopper dredger

Damen Shipyards Group has selected Wärtsilä to provide the main propulsion solutions for a large hopper dredger. The propulsion package scope includes engines, propellers and a bridge control system. The order with Wärtsilä was signed in May 2019. The Marine Aggregate Dredger (MAD) 3500-design dredger is being built for Hanson Aggregates, a leading UK supplier to the construction industry, at Damens Galati shipyard in Romania.
