DNV AWARDS AIP TO SHI SOFC-POWERED LNGC DESIGN

Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) has received approval in principle (AiP) from DNV for an LNG carrier design powered by LNG-fuelled solid oxide fuel cells. The AiP, the first of its kind for a design substituting fuel cells for a main mover aboard a deep-sea vessel, was announced by SHI on 1 July.
