New Chapter Opens In Short-Sea Trade

Hybrid power is a strongpoint of a new class of self-discharging, short-sea bulk carrier commissioned by Norwegian specialist Aasen Shipping. Handed over during December in the north Netherlands by Royal Bodewes, the 9,430dwt Aasfjell is the first of a pair of newbuilds incorporating a travelling deck gantry-mounted excavator for all-electric cargo handling.
