Asian Shipowners’ Association confirms its position on ship recycling

The 25th Interim Meeting of the Asian Shipowners’ Association Ship Recycling Committee (ASA SRC) was held via e-mail from 21 to 28 March, and members reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring full compliance with all applicable laws but point to action required to meet future demand.

The Hong Kong Convention will enter into force once further states accounting for 10.23% of shipping by global tonnage ratify the convention. A minimum threshold of ship recycling capacity is also required.
