Combined-cycle gas turbine proposed for hydrogen carrier

Researchers from the UK and Kuwait have proposed a large, liquid hydrogen carrier design that is powered by a combined-cycle gas turbine fuelled by hydrogen.

Recent gas turbine applications in commercial shipping have been limited to niche LNG carrier designs, such as MHI's Sayaringo STaGE concept (pictured).
