EU announces draft FuelEU Maritime deal

The EU Council and the EU Parliament reached a provisional agreement on the FuelEU Maritime decarbonisation initiative in the early hours of 23 March 2023.The agreement is expected to lead to a 2% reduction in environmental emissions produced from the EU27’s shipping sector by 2025, and has established a target of reducing emissions by 80% by 2050.
