Havyard ups the ante in India
The Havyard Group is doing good business in India – it has just signed a contract for a PSV vessel with Indian shipping company Global Offshore with an option for a further delivery in future.
These Havyard vessels will become numbers seven and eight but for Global Offshore. Five vessels have already been constructed and delivered and the next vessel, a Havyard 832 design, is in the middle of construction and is due for delivery in March 2013.
This new contract for a vessel of the same design is due for delivery in July next year – the contract is worth NOK270m. Collectively, the eight vessel contract with Global Offshore has a value of around NOK2bn.
Chief executive officer of Havyard Group AS, Geir Johan Bakke, said: “It is like a little Norwegian industrial fairy-tale. What is really rewarding in terms of this cooperation is the fact that we learn something new almost every day. We are of course extremely pleased to have a customer like Global trusting us over and over again.”
And there’s more good news – there’s a strong possibility that Global will want another vessel of the same design for delivery in March 2014.
