Torghatten Trafikkselskap enlists ABB for hybrid

A new car ferry for Norwegian owner Torghatten Trafikkselskap will be built as a hybrid vessel using ABB technology, with the possibility of conversion to a fully electric vessel at a later date.

The MM63 car ferry will be initially feature two battery packs as a hybrid vessel, with the option to add a further sixteen packs and shore connection to make it fully electric
