ABS to evaluate nuclear power on commercial ships

NS (Nuclear Ship) Savannah, the first commercial nuclear power cargo vessel, in 1962. ABS has been awarded funding to investigate different advanced reactor technologies.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded ABS a contract to research barriers to the adoption of advanced nuclear propulsion on commercial vessels.
