Electric rather than direct drive propulsion has been selected to accompany LNG engines on VIking Line's newbuild cruise ferry

Viking Line has opted for podded propulsion rather than a conventional shaftline arrangement for its new LNG cruise ferry under construction at Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co in China.
