Danelec acquires MacGregor’s VDR division

Danish company Danelec, a leading supplier of electronic equipment to the maritime sector, has acquired MacGregor’s Voyage Data Recorders division. With this investment, Danelec enhances its installed base to a total of 16,000 vessels.

The acquisition, which was concluded on 1 November, includes MacGregor’s Maritime Data Engine (MDE) Software. Voyage Data Recorders are devices installed on ships and function like the “black boxes” known from airplanes.
