Maersk Tankers to install scrubbers on LR2 vessels

"Installing scrubbers on selected larger-sized product tankers is the financially viable solution,” said Tommy Thomassen, Chief Technical Officer at Maersk Tankers.

Maersk Tankers is to retrofit one LR2 vessel in the Maersk Product Tanker fleet with a scrubber system, and has ordered a further three scrubber systems for LR2 newbuilds to comply with the IMO’s 2020 sulphur cap.
