MODULARITY BRINGS EFFICIENCY TO HYBRID FUEL CELL CONCEPT

A pilot hybrid fuel cell- battery power system for cruise ships is being developed in the Nautilus project.

A consortium of technology developers, shipyards and shipowners is developing a hybrid solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) genset, and the modularity of the design aims to increase efficiency and facilitate a stepwise transition to low GHG emission fuels.
