    WinGD books engine orders for 25 LNGC newbuildings

    WinGD has received 25 orders for its dual-fuel X72DF-2.1 engine featuring its new on-engine iCER , the company announced. The orders for 50 engines have been placed by multiple shipyards and shipowners in connection with QatarEnergy’s North Field East (NFE) project, the biggest LNG carrier newbuilding project in history.

    ABS has awarded approval in principle (AiP) to Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) for its hybrid power system, a configuration previously limited to smaller vessels, to aid large LNG carriers.
