EU funding for first green ammonia fuel cell project

A Norwegian-led project to install the world’s first ammonia-powered fuel cell on a vessel has been awarded EUR10m from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation fund.

The ShipFC project intends to install the first green ammonia fuel cell system aboard Viking Energy in late 2023.
