Maersk selects Wärtsilä HY Module for first hybrid AHTS retrofit

Maersk Supply Service is undertaking a hybrid retrofit of a deep water anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel, the Maersk Minder. The retrofit is understood to be the first in the world. Technology group Wärtsilä has received an order to supply a containerised hybrid battery power and energy storage system as part of the hybrid retrofit. The order was booked in May 2021.
