Coal carrier with wind assist system starts operation

The first vessel to be equipped with a hard sail wind power propulsion system developed by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and Oshima Shipbuilding has commenced operation, MOL and Tohoku Electric Power have announced.

The Shofu Maru, the first MOL vessel to be equipped with the hard sail Wind Challenger-solution, has entered service.
