EU funding for wind-assisted retrofit project

A project to install a hybrid wind-solar generation system alongside a tilting windsail system on a bulker and a container vessel has been awarded EUR9.2m from the European Union’s research and innovation fund.

The four-year WHISPER project plans to combine AYRO's windsail system with Solbian's photovoltaic panel solution with the aim of reducing emissions on a bulker by up to 30%.
