Pump order for Maersk Triple E
Austrian pump and flowmeter manufacturer Kral has announced that its is to supply a total of 600 screw pumps to DSME, which is building 20 low-emissions 18,000TEU container ships, known as the Triple E class, for Maersk.
The pumps, most of which will use hermetically-sealing magnetic couplings, will serve as as transfer, supply and circulation pumps for the booster modules. Kral claims that, compared to other pump types, its screw pumps provide high delivery rates with small space requirements, while the transport has low pulsation and is quiet.
