New technology converts waste to methanol

WasteFuel, a developer of bio-refineries focused on converting Municipal Solid Waste into low carbon fuels, has developed the WasteFuel Methanol Module – a new technology it says will significantly accelerate the use of organic waste to produce green methanol.

Maersk announced a partnership with Wastefuel in March with the intent of sourcing 30,000 tonnes/year from a bio-methanol project in South America that will start up in 2024.
